About this positionGentex Corporation is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Stranraer. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on maintenance professional to play a key role in keeping our specialist manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently. Working closely with production, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to equipment faults, and support the ongoing reliability of our manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform fault finding to minimise production downtime.
- Maintain, repair and service production machinery and factory equipment.
- Support the maintenance of factory services, including lighting and small power installations.
- Carry out general mechanical maintenance activities.
- Complete maintenance records and planned maintenance documentation.
- Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Carry out occasional work at height where required.
- Travel occasionally to other Gentex manufacturing sites to provide maintenance support.
- Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Practical electrical fault‑finding experience on production equipment.
- Good mechanical maintenance skills.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic computer skills for recording maintenance activities.
- Proactive approach to Health & Safety.
- Electrical qualification (advantageous but not essential).
- Mechanical or multi‑skilled maintenance background.
- Experience maintaining presses, moulding machines, assembly equipment or similar production machinery.
- Experience with in manufacturing sectors such as automotive, electronics, composites, bottling, packaging or similar.
- Reliable, organised and dependable.
- Practical and methodical approach to problem‑solving.
- Strong team player with good communication skills.
- Safety‑conscious with high standards of housekeeping.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
