Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Garrick Ward, an acute medical ward within Galloway Community Hospital.

This is a part‑time post, 29.19 hours per week, fixed term until 27 March 2027.

Garrick Ward is a fast‑paced, dynamic clinical environment where delivering high quality, person‑centred care is at the heart of everything we do. You will be part of a positive, supportive team that works closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to meet the complex and changing needs of our patients.

The Role

As a Staff Nurse on Garrick Ward you will:

  • Deliver safe, effective, evidence‑based nursing care in an acute medical setting
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, ANPs, AHPs and other MDT colleagues
  • Support patient flow and respond confidently in a busy ward environment
  • Contribute to service improvement and a culture of continuous learning
  • Support students and work confidently within a team
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
  • Is motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced acute environment
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to delivering high standards of care and ongoing professional development
  • Has experience in acute medical nursing (desirable); newly qualified nurses or those keen to develop acute skills are welcomed, with support and supervision provided
