Food and D.T Technician

Location: Canning Town

A secondary school in Newham are looking for a candidate to join them as a Food and D.T Technician, they will need to provide practical support and act as a main contact point for students and staff within the departments. They will have day-to-day responsibility for the school’s ordering and operation of the department and resources along with setting up practical lessons, health and safety awareness and guiding the students.

You will need to be an approachable individual who is helpful and enjoys working in partnership with staff and students alike.

Job Responsibilities
 
* Promote the department and its resources to the whole school community
 
* Prepare and manage orders and deliveries
 
* Supervise and monitor whilst supporting the students and constantly reinforcing school behaviour policies
 
* To promote the appropriate use of the resources and ensure that the practicals lessons are successful
Preferred Skills
 
* Have worked as a Food or D.T technician previously
 
* Have a good understanding of the responsibility for personal health, safety, and welfare of students
 
* Have good behaviour management
 
* Be able to prioritise work schedules and multi task
 
* Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
