Design Technology Food Technician

Location: Newham

A secondary school in Newham are looking for a candidate who is happy to work within the Design and Technology department, they will provide technical support and resources to the department, maintain equipment and resources.

They will work across the classes to support teaching across KS3,4 & 5.
This would be a great opportunity for anyone who has an interest in food and health and safety. You may be looking for some experience prior to looking into a more senior role in a food technology environment, or to even teach and educate within this field in the future.

Job Responsibilities
 
* To prepare and maintain equipment and teaching areas for specialist classes whilst ensuring a safe learning environment.
 
* To support teachers in practical classes and to help students as instructed, whilst providing advice during lessons
 
* Maintain and repair tools and equipment and keep an up to date inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
 
* Order stock and equipment as advised by the teacher in charge of Design and Technology and also check deliveries and distribute stock as required.
Preferred Skills
 
* Hold a food safety & hygiene certificate or a similar qualification
 
* Have a good understanding of the responsibility for personal health, safety, and welfare of students
 
* Have good behaviour management
 
* Be able to prioritise work schedules and multi task
 
* Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
