What

you will do
  • Lead and manage a team of up to 14 practitioners, including Assistant Team Managers, Senior Social Workers, and newly qualified social workers.
  • Play an integral role in embedding a restorative and systemic model of social work practice in Newham.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, colleagues, and external stakeholders to achieve service plans and priorities.
  • Ensure the delivery of statutory services within the Children’s Social Care and Safeguarding Directorate.
  • Oversee and manage budgets related to service-specific delivery, such as section 17 Children in Need.
  • Engage regularly with children, young people, parents, carers, and their networks to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Make key decisions regarding service-specific social work interventions impacting children and families.
Requirements of the Team Manager
  • Degree or equivalent in social work and current Social Work England registration.
  • Recent managerial experience as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
  • Significant frontline experience in Adult/Children’s Services.
