Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Looking for Greater Ownership and Client Exposure?Our client is a growing regional accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accountant to manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
This is a highly client-facing role offering the opportunity to build long-term relationships, provide practical advice, and become a trusted adviser to sole traders, partnerships, landlords, family businesses and rural enterprises.

The OpportunityThis role combines accounts preparation, Self Assessment work, Making Tax Digital support and client relationship management.
You will work directly with business owners, helping them understand their finances and supporting them with practical advice that makes a genuine difference.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Preparation- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Reviewing bookkeeping records and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing capital allowance claims and tax adjustments
- Managing partnership allocations and calculations
- Producing high-quality working papers
- Preparing Self Assessment tax returns and managing HMRC submissions
- Calculating tax liabilities and advising clients on obligations
- Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements
- Advising on record-keeping and compliance
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Explaining accounting and tax matters clearly
- Building long-term relationships
- Supporting clients with financial systems and processes
- Contributing to the continued growth of the local office
You’ll likely have:
- Experience preparing accounts for unincorporated businesses within practice
- Strong Self Assessment experience
- Experience using Xero, Quick Books, CCH or similar software
- Excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified
- Experience with partnerships, landlords or agricultural businesses
- Knowledge of Making Tax Digital requirements
- Interest in working with owner-managed and rural businesses
- 4-day working week (Hybrid working)
