About the role

Senior Auditor Lead end-to-end audits and take ownership of the full audit process.

An opportunity to influence risk, controls and business improvement across NFU Mutual.

Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from our Stratford‑upon‑Avon Head Office.

As a Senior Auditor at NFU Mutual, you will play a key role within our Internal Audit team, delivering high‑quality audits that support strong risk management and effective control across the business. Based in Stratford‑upon‑Avon, you will work across a wide range of business areas, building a strong understanding of operations, risks and controls. You will take ownership of audits from planning through to reporting, ensuring work is delivered to defined standards and timescales.

Your role will include evaluating financial and operational risks, assessing internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve how the business operates.

Working closely with stakeholders, you will provide clear insight and constructive challenge, producing high‑quality audit reports that support improvements strengthening the control environment. You will also contribute to audit planning activities and support delivery of wider projects when required within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end audits and take ownership of the full audit process.
  • Plan and execute audit programmes, evaluating financial and operational risks.

  • Produce clear, high‑quality audit reports tailored to different audiences.

About You
  • Experienced and qualified audit professional with strong insurance industry expertise.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality audit work, providing insightful assurance, and influencing positive business outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, communicate clearly, and adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • Take ownership of work, manage multiple priorities, and bring a proactive approach to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Inquisitive, detail‑focused, and comfortable working across complex business areas.
Qualifications
  • Experience assessing risk and controls and designing audit programmes.
  • Strong analytical mindset and confidence to challenge effectively.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality audit reports tailored to different audiences.
  • Strong understanding of internal audit standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using analytical audit techniques and data analysis.
  • Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors Diploma in Internal Audit Practice or equivalent including ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ISACA, ACII certification or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries qualification – Essential.
