1:1 Teaching Assistant – Level 2/3 (Complex Needs)

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Level 2/3 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with deafness, blindness, non-verbal communication needs, and complex learning requirements. This fixed-term supply role is based in the Stratford-upon-Avon area and requires someone highly resilient, nurturing, and skilled in SEN support.

Job Requirements:
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Previous experience supporting pupils with complex needs (deafness, blindness, sensory impairment, non-verbal learners)
• Ability to use or learn alternative communication methods (e.g., tactile cues, symbols, sensory approaches)
• Calm, patient, and confident working in a high-needs environment
• Able to follow individual support, safeguarding, and care plans
• Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Role Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with deafness, blindness and non-verbal communication
• Assist with sensory learning activities, mobility, and engagement routines
• Promote independence, exploration, and emotional regulation
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external specialists
• Maintain meticulous safeguarding and communication records
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
