Bidford on Avon CofE Primary School is seeking to recruit a passionate, resilient and empathetic teaching assistant to work 1:1 in Keystage 2 with children who have diverse needs linked to their Special Educational Needs. The role is a fixed term contact to the end of the academic year, with 31.25 hours per week. The successful candidate will support a child with SEMH needs, using initiative, empathy and a nurturing approach to support the child to access their learning.
KeyRequirements
- Creative, with an understanding of how children learn and excellent relationship‑building skills with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- Experience working with pupils with significant needs.
- Predominantly work in a 1‑1 capacity, but also prepared to work within whole class settings and across the school as required.
- Work with small groups of children who have additional needs (SEND) and undertake other duties supporting the education and well‑being of all pupils.
- Maintain the high standards of the school and use strategies in liaison with the teacher to support pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Prepare, maintain and use any equipment/resources required to deliver the planned relevant learning activities.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Passion for working with children who have SEN.
- Willingness to become a First Aider and support children with personal care needs, if required.
