About Our Vision and ValuesSt Nicholas C of E Primary School is looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant Level 2 as part of its dedicated team. The role involves providing support and working one-to-one with a child with specific needs. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, calm, patient and able to adapt quickly to different situations.
RoleYou will be responsible for:
- Supporting one-to-one in activities that have been planned for by the class teacher.
- Contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

- Relevant experience and appropriate qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 are desirable.
- Previous experience of supporting children with SEND would be an advantage.
- Displaying commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.

As this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check. Our pre‑employment process will also include Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks (where applicable), proof of qualifications (as specified in the person specification), section 128 checks (for those in management roles), medical fitness checks, identity and right to work checks.
Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wrap‑around care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks.
