Teaching Assistant

Role Overview

We are looking for a committed and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school from September 2026. This is a full-time position.

• Early years SEND support for Reception and Year 1 pupils
• Delivering phonics sessions using a systematic synthetic phonics approach
• Implementing support plans and working closely with teachers and the SENCO
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent, nurturing strategies
• Creating a positive learning environment that encourages independence

• A strong, confident classroom presence
• Experience teaching or supporting phonics
• Patience, resilience, and a caring approach
• Ability to commit to a full-time role from September 2026
• Experience with SEND (desirable but not essential if willing to learn)
