SEND Teaching Assistants

Alveston CofE Primary School are seeking two wonderful SEND Teaching Assistants (TA) to join our successful, friendly community.

Job Details:

• TA role – 27 hours and 10 minutes per week, Fixed term, term time only for 2 years. Mon – Wed 8.40am to 2.45pm, Thurs 8.40am – 1.30pm, Fri 8.40am to 1.15pm.
• TA role – 6 hours per week, Fixed term, term time only for 1 year. Mon – Thurs 9am to 10.30am.

Responsibilities and

Required Skills:

• Be nurturing, patient and empathic with children whilst able to maintain consistent and clear boundaries.
• Show initiative, build good relationships with pupils and establish positive behaviours for learning.
• Be proactive with support, enthusiastic and imaginative.
• Possess strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Have high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
• Present a friendly and professional nature with children and adults.
• Maintain a flexible and professional approach to work.
• Exhibit a positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Be a team player, with a strong personal work ethic.

Additional Support Opportunities:

Possibility of further TA roles to provide additional learning support for pupils, such as delivering specific interventions or working closely with a child in the classroom. These roles may be mornings or afternoons and options can be discussed.
