Role OverviewWe are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Attendance Improvement Officer to join our busy team. The post holder will play a key role in monitoring, managing and improving student attendance across the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing attendance processes, identifying patterns of absence, and working closely with staff, students, parents and external agencies to support improved attendance outcomes.
This position is critical in helping the school meet its attendance objectives and fulfil statutory responsibilities set by the Department for Education and the local authority.
- Monitor and manage student attendance across the school effectively.
- Identify patterns of absence and develop interventions.
- Work closely with staff, students, parents and external agencies to support improved attendance outcomes.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and support continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
- Safeguard and support best practices in attendance management.
- The post is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 41 weeks per year. The actual timings will be by agreement with the line manager.
- Starting salary for a full‑time post at Band G is within the range £28,598 to £31,537 per annum, starting point depending on experience and qualifications.
- Actual salary is calculated at £26,046 to £28,722 per annum based on hours and weeks worked as stated, subject to any continuous service.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS and requires a children’s barred list check.
