We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support and develop the learning of students with Specific Educational Needs (SEN) in Literacy. The role involves planning and delivering individual, paired and small group work. Reporting to the SENCo/Associate SENCo, this Specialist TA3 will work alongside subject staff to design and support learning activities that meet the needs of individual learners with SEN, such as Dyslexia.
The Successful candidate will link with all departments, external agencies, parents and students and work with initiative and enthusiasm, positively supporting some of our most vulnerable students.
Working hours are 37 hours per week, typically 8:00 am – 4:15 pm Monday – Thursday and 8:00 am – 3:40 pm Friday. Term time is 38 weeks plus 5 staff learning days, for a total of 39 weeks per annum.
Starting salary for the full‑time post is Band H (points 18‑23), in the range £31,537 to £34,434. The actual salary for the hours and weeks worked will be in the range £27,321 to £29,831, subject to continuous service.
As the role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, an Enhanced DBS check and a children’s barred list check are required.
