Role Summary

The Diagnostics Engineer will lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues during the development phase of an automotive vehicle platform, working within a central systems integration environment to support effective issue resolution across complex vehicle systems.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead early-stage investigation activities to determine urgency and impact of reported systems and software issues
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of data captured to support level 1 triage issue tickets
  • Support and maintain key testing assets used during issue investigation activities
  • Engage directly with complex vehicle issues to support data gathering, problem definition, and root cause analysis
  • Analyse system and software behaviour to identify ownership of issue resolution across engineering teams
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional business areas to ensure issues are clearly understood and correctly prioritised
  • Support the wider objectives of the Central Systems Integration team through effective issue resolution activities as a Diagnostics Engineer
Requirements Of

The Role
  • Strong technical background with proven knowledge of electrical and software engineering
  • Knowledge of automotive components, software systems, system architectures, and integrated software solutions
  • Understanding of engineering design principles and the application of quality and problem-solving tools
  • Ability to prioritise workload and lead issue resolution activities individually or within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to act on own initiative in a complex engineering environment
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline, suitable for a Diagnostics Engineer
