Role: Delivery Engineer
Location: Gaydon/ Whitley
The Role
As a Delivery Engineer you will work on programme planning and delivery. In this role you will oversee design, development and validation of powertrain systems. You will lead and manage cross-functional teams to develop and deliver high-performance EV powertrain systems. In this role you will proactively monitor Engineering Delivery health status through the resolution of risks and issues, initiating corrective action where required.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams to develop and deliver high-performance EV and PHEV powertrain systems
- Proactively monitor Engineering Delivery health status through the resolution of risks and issues, initiating corrective action where required
- Manage project plan, timelines, project risks / issues, and mitigation plans
- Drive engineering activities at the powertrain level, including requirements definition, supplier selection, design release, prototyping and testing
- Collaborate with other departments - design, manufacturing and quality
- Ensure all deliverables meet requirements, compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- To act as the day-to-day contact in Program Management to ensure successful program delivery
- Drive collaboration between OEM & supplier Engineering teams to provide
- Managing the performance of the Engineering Delivery team to ensure successful programme delivery
- Leading AIMS cadence – agenda setting, meeting chair, Start Up management, Issues triage
- Specific AIMS issue resolution – lead 8D, 5 Why & other problem-solving tools
- Issue investigation support across teams when required
- Creating, updating and reporting out on AIM management performance, e.g. burn down performance to engineering sign off
- DV management of integration test cases (DOORS / RTC) – for Powertrain
- Tracking and helping remove any blockers to DV tests starting late or finishing late
- ECAS / GRADE / EMC ticket progression management
- Facilitating all system delivery teams during Q planning
- Programme metrics pack preparation for VE and Domain sync report outs
- Flexibility to adapt to work variation is preferred as it involves working with cross-functional teams.
Your Profile Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience with project management / agile methodologies.
- Techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes, including risks management.
- UK Driving license is mandatory.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Credibility within the programme environment and ability to influence others.
- Demonstrable experience managing and influencing key stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of EV powertrain systems, including power electronics, electric motors, batteries, and related technologies.
- Organisational skills not limited to communication, collaboration, decision-making, risk management, continuous improvement, problem solving, project management.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical engineering or automotive engineering.
- Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
- Self-motivating and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and influence stake holders.
