Commodity Engineer - Exterior Trim

Overview

Component design, project delivery and supply chain management for Exterior Trim components, Component / System / Feature ownership and delivery Component areas including but not limited to:
Bumpers, grilles, sills, spoilers, vents, ornamentation, undertrays, wheel arch liners.

Align cross functional targets and constraints at programme start to set DVP for component/system sign off. Review and approval of detailed drawings to AML drafting standards. Project management of component delivery through all development phases into Design releasing and validation. Working knowledge of Product Creation Processes. Working knowledge of exterior trim manufacturing process, i.e.: injection moulding, RIM moulding, Extrusions etc. Understanding of component development process and design maturation.

The Body Exteriors Trim Department is responsible for exterior trim component delivery.

• Component / System / Feature ownership and delivery of designated component areas.
• Align cross functional targets and constraints at programme start to set DVP for component/system sign off.
• Review and approval of detailed drawings to AML drafting standards.
• Project management of component delivery through all development phases into Design releasing and validation.
• Working knowledge of Product Creation Processes.
• Working knowledge of exterior trim manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, RIM moulding, and extrusions.
• Understanding of component development process and design maturation.
• Use of Teamcenter and Vis-Mockup for PLM.
• DFMEA creation and updating.

• Essential education/qualifications:
  Degree educated or equivalent experience.
• Preferred education/qualifications:
  Practical problem‑solving methodology, comfortable working to deadlines, holding others to account.
• Experience in a similar role (Project Engineer / Project Manager) is preferred.
• Preferred experience suitable and related role from within the Automotive industry.
• Competent in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to influence others even when direct reporting lines are not present.
