We are looking for a professional to support the CRUK Operational Risk Committee and the wider Risk and Assurance functions. The role involves clerking, governance, attendee liaison and reporting across risk activities.

Responsibilities
  • Support and enable the running of the CRUK Operational Risk Committee – clerking, governance, organisation, attendee liaison, metrics and reporting.
  • Contribute ideas to and support project management of a revised approach to risk and assurance in CRUK.
  • Collaborate with the Assurance function to develop and operate the Risk Assurance Map (RAM).
  • Support delivery of risk‑management related improvement projects.
  • Update content of function‑owned key policies and related documents.
  • Support delivery of the End of Year Assurance process and associated reporting.
Qualifications
  • Self‑starter who takes the initiative proactively and can work independently and autonomously, managing day‑to‑day workload and priorities.
  • Relevant experience of working in a risk management team environment.
  • Relevant experience of operating risk management processes in a second‑line risk function.
  • Strong organisational and logistics skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across departmental boundaries.
  • Resilient and committed team worker.
  • Calm, confident and articulate communicator who can concisely communicate information and concepts to colleagues and customers.
  • Influences others effectively, including at senior level, through clear and persuasive arguments.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the charity’s broader strategy and its impact on the Risk team.
  • General technology skills (Microsoft suite, AI prompts).
  • Competent in data and metrics for analysis of risk to inform risk reporting.
