Risk Consultant – Partner with stakeholders to strengthen decision‑making, resilience and business performance. Gain broad exposure to enterprise‑wide risk activity, governance and major change programmes. Work in a hybrid setting: 80% homeworking and 20% from Stratford‑Upon‑Avon.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Risk Consultant, you’ll help shape and strengthen operational risk management across NFU Mutual. Working within the Operational Risk Management team, you will partner with stakeholders across the Group to support the effective application of our Risk Management Framework and ensure risks are identified, assessed, managed and monitored appropriately. You’ll provide expert advice and constructive challenge on operational risks, controls and risk events, helping business areas make informed decisions and operate within risk appetite.
Using risk data, management information and reporting insights, you will support governance activities, regulatory requirements and business decision‑making.
The role also plays an important part in supporting major business change and transformation activity, assessing how evolving risks and controls may impact the organisation. You will contribute to thematic reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, risk communications and training to strengthen risk capability across the business.
Qualifications- Experience applying Operational Risk Management Frameworks, including risk principles, tools and techniques.
- Strong risk analysis and data interpretation capability.
- Experience producing and presenting risk reporting and management information to support governance, regulatory requirements and business decision‑making.
- Ability to provide practical risk advice, constructive challenge and support to stakeholders on risk and control matters.
- Experience using risk management systems and tools to record, monitor and report risk information, alongside conducting thematic reviews and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Experience working within the insurance or financial services sector.
- A Risk qualification is desirable but not a pre‑requisite for the role.
- Salary £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.
- Annual bonus (up to 17.5% of salary).
