Role Summary

The Issue Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the identification, tracking, and resolution of integration issues across complex systems, ensuring robust governance, transparency, and process adherence. This role operates at a strategic and coordination level rather than being hands‑on, with a strong focus on metrics, KPIs, and senior stakeholder reporting.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end issue and defect management process for complex system integrations as an Issue Management Specialist
  • Ensure consistent adherence to defined issue management processes, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Drive actions and priorities based on clearly defined KPIs related to defect and issue management
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date issue registers and tracking systems with strong attention to detail
  • Facilitate regular issue review meetings, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and timely follow‑up
  • Perform and oversee root cause analysis activities to support effective issue resolution
  • Develop, maintain, and present metrics, dashboards, and professional reports for senior stakeholders
  • Identify process weaknesses, risks, and areas requiring additional support or escalation
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to manage complex or sensitive discussions
Requirements of the Role
  • Proven experience in issue and defect management processes and tools within complex system environments
  • Strong analytical capability, including root cause analysis and structured problem‑solving methodologies
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and communicate KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards
  • Solid understanding of software integration principles, dependencies, and delivery challenges
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills suited to an Issue Management Specialist role
  • Experience working within structured project governance environments such as PMO or programme teams
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery models
  • High levels of process discipline, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent relevant professional experience
