The Maintenance Technician position in Stratford is a part-time, temporary role with Pertemps London, paying £16.92 per hour under PAYE. This ongoing placement involves two days per week, from 9am to 5pm, within a student accommodation setting in East London. The role centres on building safety, compliance, and daily facilities upkeep. Responsibilities combine reactive repairs with planned preventative maintenance, including fire alarm testing, lift inspections, and plant room checks.

You will undertake routine fault finding and minor fixes to keep the property secure and habitable.

This position suits a practical individual ready to start immediately, working fifteen hours weekly to maintain high standards across the site.

We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to support a busy student accommodation site in East London. This ongoing temporary role is focused on building safety, compliance and day‑to‑day facilities maintenance.

Role Overview

You’ll carry out a blend of reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure the building remains safe, compliant and ready for residents.

Duties include:
  • General maintenance repairs — routine fault finding and minor repairs
  • PPM duties — fire alarm tests, lift inspections, plant room checks, emergency lighting inspections, critical equipment checks and external property inspections
  • Health & Safety compliance — ensuring safe working practices and accurate record‑keeping
