PDI Engineer

Location: Bearley
Salary: £30,000 £ 35,000 per annum

Neos Engineering are partnered with a well-established and reputable business within the heavy plant sector, known for supplying and supporting high-quality equipment across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a PDI Engineer to join their workshop team in Bearley.

The Role

As a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, testing, and preparation of new and used heavy plant machinery prior to delivery to customers. You will ensure all equipment is compliant, fully functional, and presented to a high standard, playing a key role in maintaining the company s reputation for quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting pre-delivery inspections on heavy plant machinery

  • Carrying out diagnostic checks and basic mechanical work

  • Working on engines, including fault finding and basic repairs (diesel experience advantageous)

  • Completing inspection reports and ensuring all machinery meets quality and safety standards

  • Liaising closely with workshop and delivery teams

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy plant, construction plant, agricultural machinery, or similar equipment. The client is particularly interested in candidates with engine experience, even if this has been gained outside of the plant sector.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in a PDI, plant fitter, workshop engineer, or similar role

  • Engine experience (diesel or petrol) essential

  • Good mechanical and diagnostic skills

  • Familiarity with heavy plant, construction, agricultural, or industrial machinery

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
