Support and Development Worker
Location:
Old Trafford, Manchester Salary: £13.50 per hour £57.50 per sleep-in
Hours:
Part-Time, Permanent (subject to a 6-month probationary period) – Minimum 20 hours per week;
Up to 34. Our client provides supported accommodation for nine local authority care leavers aged 16 to 18. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support and Development Worker to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about empowering young people to develop their independence and reach their full potential. About the Role As a Support and Development Worker, you will:
Provide practical and emotional support to young people within a supported accommodation setting. Promote independence, personal growth, and life skills development. Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and young people to achieve positive outcomes. Complete reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed. Working independently (lone working) and handle challenging situations with professionalism and calmness. About You Our client is looking for someone who is:
Resilient, reliable, and highly motivated. Able to follow direction while using initiative and creativity in problem-solving. Flexible, enthusiastic, and able to remain calm under pressure. An excellent communicator with strong organisational and report-writing skills. Essential Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards this (fully funded by our client).
Previous or similar experience supporting young people in a care or supported accommodation setting. Proven experience of lone working. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. Why Join Them:
