On-Site Maintenance Worker

Become a key player in the operation of transit vehicles as an on-site Maintenance Worker in Stratford, ON. This role includes vehicle maintenance, facility cleaning, and supporting fleet operations.

The City of Stratford is looking for an Afternoon Maintenance Worker for its Transit Fleet. You will perform essential maintenance tasks on transit vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and operational efficiency. The role also includes conducting routine checks and assisting mechanics as needed, all within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash and clean buses thoroughly, including interiors

• Maintain cleanliness of Transit Office and garage

• Perform routine maintenance checks on transit vehicles

• Report leaks or defects during visual engine checks

• Assist with snow removal and other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Secondary School Diploma required

• Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role

• Ability to work independently and on rotating shifts

• Willingness to work weekends as needed

• Strong commitment to safety and cleanliness
