ROLE

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
  • Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
  • Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
  • Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Cardiac Care and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred
  • Recent related courses, in‑services in Cardiac Care Nursing and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred
  • Clinical Nurse Educators that offer on-site training
  • Clinical Scholars available for on unit assistance and questions
  • Preceptor/Peer Mentorship Opportunities
  • Collaborative Team Environment
  • Nurse Support Line (Experienced Nurses or Registered Respiratory Therapists available for advice on non-emergent issues)
