Manager, Meat

Job Summary

The Meat Manager is responsible for coaching, motivating, and developing store staff to foster customer loyalty and meet financial targets while maintaining high operational and customer service standards.

• Create a coaching and development culture for all store employees.
• Manage direct reports, including selection, orientation, training, performance management, succession planning, and compensation.
• Manage department operations and communicate requirements or changes to employees.
• Create an engaging customer shopping experience and maintain product knowledge.
• Order, receive, organize, rotate, merchandise and present products in accordance with company standards.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, health & safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain department equipment and coordinate repairs.
• Manage the department budget and financial performance, including forecasting, variance analysis, and labour cost control.
• Support employee engagement and participate in community and charitable events.
• Provide feedback for continuous improvement and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

• Minimum 18 months of retail store experience, preferably in meat.
• High School Diploma.
• Full knowledge of store and department operations.
• Experience reading and analyzing financial reports and managing budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Base salary range: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00.
