The Early Childhood Collaborative of Stratford is seeking three Parent Ambassadors for September 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, with the possibility of yearly renewal. The Parent Ambassador is a trusted community member who helps to connect families with local early childhood programs and resources. As a parent leader, the Parent Ambassador will build relationships with families, share important information, and ensure that parent voices are reflected in the design and implementation of the Early Childhood Collaborative of Stratford Local Governance Partner work.

• Community Outreach and Engagement
  : build connections with families in Stratford to raise awareness about services and resources for families and children, birth to five, and support families in navigating access to those resources
• Parent Voice and Advocacy
  : gather input and feedback from families on interests and needs related to early childhood services and resources
• Support Events and Meetings
  : attend and assist with family-focused events and meetings hosted by the Early Childhood Collaborative of Stratford
• Collaborate with Partners
  : work as part of the team to promote family-centered strategies and equitable service delivery
• Monthly Reporting
  : provide monthly updates on outreach activities, family needs, and success stories on the provided tracking form
• Statewide Training and CT State Initiatives
  : engage in CT OEC trainings for Parent Ambassadors and fulfill all responsibilities of this role as articulated by CT OEC

• A parent with lived experience residing in Stratford
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and respectfully with diverse families
• Familiarity with early childhood resources in the area
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with advanced notice
• Comfort in using technology tools—Google Suite, Social media, etc.
• Bilingual individuals are strongly encouraged to apply
• Must possess a valid CT Driver’s license and have reliable transportation

Position:
This position will be compensated as a part-time employee at the rate of $25 per hour. This is a 100% grant-funded opportunity.

Hours:

The number of hours per month will be determined by community needs and event schedules. Total hours will not exceed 120 per year and will average approximately 10 hours per month.

The Parent Ambassadors will work under the general direction of the Early Childhood Collaborative of Stratford and specifically the Stratford Parents’ Place Program Administrator.
