Preschool Teacher

35 hours / week

The Classroom Teacher 2 supports the educational, social, and physical needs of students under the direction of the classroom teacher and school administrators. This role includes assisting with instructional activities, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and ensuring students’ safety and well-being in the classroom and school environment.

• Support classroom instruction by assisting students with learning activities and assignments.
• Provide assistance with toileting, feeding, and lifting as needed to support students' individual needs.
• Monitor and assist with students' safety and behavior during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks.
• Observe students and record data for learning standards.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support students’ individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals.
• Maintain a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.

• CDA, Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting is desirable.
• Ability to lift and assist students with physical needs, including toileting and feeding.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

This is a full-time, full-year position. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Stratford Public Schools.
