Packaging Engineer

Job Type: Full‑time (Entry Level)

We’re looking for an entry‑level Packaging Engineer to support the design and development of protective packaging solutions for our customers. You’ll work closely with Sales, Operations, and Production to create CAD‑based designs and 3D assemblies, assist with prototyping, and help drive continuous improvement in packaging performance and manufacturability.

• Design protective packaging solutions using CAD, including 3D parts and assemblies

• Develop concepts for custom packaging (foam, corrugated, mixed‑material systems) based on product requirements.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation: drawings, BOMs, specifications, and revision updates.
• Support prototype builds and packaging tests (fit, function, drop/vibration as applicable).
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams (foam shop, woodshop, warehouse) to ensure designs are practical, cost‑effective, and repeatable.
• Participate in customer‑facing activities as needed (requirements gathering, quoting support, design reviews).
• Assist in standardizing design processes, materials, and documentation workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or another Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.).
• CAD design experience with the ability to create 3D models and assemblies (Solid Works, Inventor, Fusion 360, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate drawings and documentation.
• Solid communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work on‑site in Stratford, CT.

• Prior experience designing foam packaging (EPE, EVA, PE, PU, etc.).
• Familiarity with protective packaging fundamentals (cushioning curves, fragility, compression set, drop testing).
• Experience with packaging manufacturing methods (CNC cutting, waterjet, routing, die cutting, lamination, kitting).

• Hands‑on experience taking designs from concept to production.
