Description
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role works closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement, support new product introduction, and optimize existing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming of CNC machines including laser, turret punch, and press-brakes.
- Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and implement solutions that enhance production flow.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to ensure alignment on process improvements.
- Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing and validating new manufacturing methods and tooling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or 7+ years’ experience with precision sheet-metal.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or related role (preferably in a production environment).
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency in Solid Works software, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and CNC programming software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in precision sheet-metal fabrication.
- CNC programming of lasers, turrets, press-brakes.
- Router/Traveler creation
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
- Hands‑on experience with process automation or robotics integration.
Work Environment:
- On‑site in a manufacturing environment with regular interaction on the production floor.
