A call CRNA is part of a core team of dedicated CRNAs who provide timely anesthetic and emergency care for patients in a 24/7 model. This full‑time position involves off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays, with flexible, non‑patterned schedules and in‑house call responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Clinical Care
- Implement accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
- Professional Skill
- Understand physiological implications and anesthetic considerations for surgical procedures, continuously monitor vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.
- Information Management
- Ensure appropriate documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements and protect information from unauthorized access.
- Quality Management
- Demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
- Professional Development
- Engage in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
Education: Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program and current Connecticut Nursing License (APRN).
Experience: Preferred clinical experience as a CRNA; required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Competence must be demonstrated through reference letters from physicians.
Licensure: AANA Certification, State of CT RN and APRN License, ACLS, DEA Registration, and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration.

Sharp concentration, calmness under stress, effective communication with surgeons and surgical support team, patient reassurance, immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management; flexibility and adaptability.
Physical Demand: Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand for long periods, wear lead as needed, and support patient movement between anesthesia locations. Sensory functions (vision, hearing, tactile) and motor skills required for precise monitoring and communication.
