We are currently seeking Manufacturing Electrician for 1st shift opportunity within our Bridgeport Fittings facilities located in Stratford, CT. This position also offers a $500 sign on bonus.

Responsibilities:

Lay out, install, and repair all types of electrical equipment such as high-tension switchboards and automatic controls
Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems
Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs, push button controls, switches, cord sets, etc
Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics
Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment
Recommend and order spare parts and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience working as an electrician. Industrial experience a plus
Must have verifiable, formal training in electrical theory and safety. Certificate showing completion of state of Connecticut or other apprenticeship program preferred
E-2 not mandatory, but a plus
Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair necessary. Rockwell Automation SLCS
00 a plus
Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, including invertor drives, holding circuits, and overload protection
Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches
Able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics
Use of common electrical tools such as multi-meters, strippers/crimpers, EMT benders, and threaders
Able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools
Must be safety conscious, organized, neat, and able to work alone or as a team member

Position reports to Facilities Manager

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
