Tyler Air is seeking an energetic HVAC Service Technician for our Stratford
, CT location. The ideal candidate will hold a valid S-1 or S-2 Connecticut HVAC license and have strong hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HVAC equipment. This position is mainly residential with some commercial work, requiring excellent technical skills, professionalism, independence, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

Schedule:
  • Typical start time is 7:00 AM, with the workday continuing until assigned calls are completed
  • Approximately 80% residential and 20% commercial work
  • On-call rotation approximately once every 5 weeks
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems
  • Service and work on all types of HVAC equipment including central air conditioning systems, furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, ventilation and exhaust systems, ductless mini-splits, refrigeration, thermostats, controls and related electrical and mechanical components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and service calls
  • Complete approximately 4-6 service calls per day, depending on call volume and complexity
  • Communicate professionally with customers to educate, build relationships, and address their HVAC concerns
  • Identify opportunities to recommend appropriate repairs, replacements, and system improvements
  • Generate sales opportunities through service calls and earn commission on sold jobs and service flips
  • Complete service reports to be submitted daily
  • Build and maintain customer relationships in the field to ensure excellent customer service and enhance the company’s image
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and safety standards according to company policy
Job Qualifications:
  • Active Connecticut S-1 or S-2 journeyman license required
  • 2+ years of HVAC experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • EPA Universal Certification required
