The Work

We are seeking an Senior Software Engineer to join a Mission Systems team that develops software applications supporting critical business and mission objectives. The incumbent will execute all phases of the software development lifecycle-requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation-under very general supervision. Success requires strong teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Program Management, and the Software Architecture group.

Familiarity with Agile development, Dev Sec Ops , DO‑178C, C/C++, Python, Linux, Git Lab, and Atlassian tools is desired.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design and implement C/C++ test procedures that verify SRS high‑level and SDD low‑level software requirements.

+ Conduct laboratory investigations, troubleshoot software issues, and perform regression analysis to ensure continued compliance.

+ Develop and maintain traceability matrices linking test results to original requirements, ensuring full coverage and auditability.

+ Create detailed test plans, test procedures, and test reports; execute integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities in a software‑development lab environment.

+ Define external and internal hardware/software interfaces as needed for verification setups; update Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

+ Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, software, integration/test) to resolve verification findings and drive corrective actions.

+ Support documentation of verification activities and contribute to certification evidence packages.

+ Participate in team planning, status updates, and risk mitigation to meet technical performance, schedule, and cost objectives.

** Basic Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent).

+ Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience or a Master's degree with no required experience.

+ Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python for developing automated test code and scripts.

+ Knowledge of system verification/test documentation, test‑plan creation, and execution.
