Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and organized Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The Prep Cook will assist the Kitchen Manager and line cooks in preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, has excellent knife skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing and organizing ingredients for meal preparation.
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines for consistent food quality.
  • Chop, slice, and dice vegetables, fruits, and herbs using proper techniques.
  • Prepare meats, poultry, and seafood as required.
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for recipes, sauces, dressings, and marinades.
  • Stock and rotate food supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and storage.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete food prep tasks timely.
  • Assist with dish plating and presentation.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in training to enhance culinary skills.
  • Requirements:
    • Previous experience as a prep cook or similar in a professional kitchen preferred.
    • Knowledge of culinary techniques and food handling.
    • Strong knife skills and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
    • Understanding of food safety and sanitation.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Team player with collaborative skills.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
