• Purpose:
  
  Operates District busses in a manner that ensures students are safely transported to and from their destinations, and in accordance with departmental policies, and Ohio law.

Base pay range: $22.83/hr - $22.83/hr

• Possess at minimum, a valid Ohio Commercial Driver License, class B, with Passenger & School Bus endorsements. Training may be available for the right candidate.
• Equivalent of a high school diploma.
• Meets all requirements and qualifications outlined in the Ohio Revised Code.
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Complies with the Board's drug and alcohol policies.

• Operates District school busses in accordance with all rules and regulations.
• Completes inspections of the bus to ensure all equipment is present and working properly.
• Maintains the security and confidentiality of all privileged information.
• Oversees student behavior and reports any student misconduct to the appropriate staff.
• Assists students entering and exiting the bus, as needed.
• Provides passengers with medical or health care, as necessary.
• Completes all trips in accordance with the predetermined routes and time schedule.
• Complies with all traffic laws.
• Reports instances of suspected child abuse and/or neglect to law enforcement.
• Participates in professional growth activities including health and safety trainings.
• Complies with all District policies and procedures.
• Performs other functions as assigned.

• Intervenes to resolve conflicts and manage discipline.
• Communicates information quickly and accurately, and delivers effective responses.
• Effectively communicates with staff, students and parents.
• Maintains a satisfactory attendance record and exhibits punctuality.
• Ability to assist students with mobility devices.
• Demonstrates professionalism in all forms of communication and interactions.

• Physically moving supplies and equipment.
• Operating or traveling as a passenger in a motor vehicle.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions and temperature changes.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Working beyond regularly-scheduled business hours and on weekends.
• Exposure to vapors from cleaning solvents and personal hygiene products.
• Exposure to risk of contact with communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
• Interaction with disorderly and potentially hostile students and members of the community.
