Shift Information2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Full‑time position with a starting salary of $26.50 per hour.
Position SummaryThe Semi Truck Driver operates diesel‑powered tractor‑trailers or box trucks to safely transport and deliver products or materials to various destinations. The role requires strict adherence to safety regulations, efficient route management, and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Transport goods to designated locations, including warehouses, retail locations, and distribution centers.
- Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Properly load, arrange, and secure cargo to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including hours of service (HOS), fuel usage, mileage, and delivery records per DOT regulations.
- Operate the vehicle safely while complying with all DOT rules and local traffic laws.
- Maintain timely communication with dispatchers and supervisors to report progress, delays, or route issues.
- Use equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and hand trucks as needed during loading and unloading.
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff during pickups and deliveries, representing the company courteously.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no recent major violations or accidents.
- DOT Medical Certification – must pass and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and handle extended periods of sitting and driving.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and safety inspections.
- Time management skills to stay on schedule and meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Effective verbal communication skills with dispatchers, customers, and other personnel.
- Proficiency with GPS and trip‑planning tools.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of tractor‑trailer driving experience preferred.
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, or airborne particles.
- Noise level typically loud due to vehicle operation and loading/unloading activity.
- Weekend or holiday work may be required based on delivery schedules.
- Drivers must comply with all company safety protocols and equipment care standards.
