POSITION INFORMATION Position SummaryThe Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator provides direct spiritual care for patients and families including the spiritual needs and issues of the dying and their families. Coordinates and evaluates spiritual care volunteers; assists with the orientation of new employees and volunteers; and assist with the development and participation of memorial services for patient and the agency. Assist the Interdisciplinary Team in understanding ethical, religious, and spiritual issues.
Assists with outreach to congregations and other community group request for education regarding Hospice services. Must be flexible in meeting patient/family needs or speaking request that require evenings and weekends. Must be available for emergency situations.
A degree or certificate in Pastoral Counseling/Spiritual Director; MDIV; or related field from an accredited school or university. Must be able to provide care in diverse living situations, to diverse patient populations (racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, age, and social class). Must be able to drive and have valid Ohio driver's license.
Required Length and Type of ExperienceClinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or two (2) years related clinical work experience.
Required Licensure, Certification or RegistryA degree/certificate in Pastoral Counseling/Spiritual Director
Valid Ohio driver's license
