Overview
We are looking for a legal assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist clients. You’ll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, scheduling hearing dates, and ensuring clients are aware of those dates. You’ll also assist with drafting and filing legal documents and correspondence. Responsibilities- Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with courts, opposing counsel, and clients by phone and email
- Assist in scheduling hearings and meetings, and ensure attorneys and clients are aware of those dates
- Work with attorneys and staff to draft, file, and serve various legal documents
- Save discovery as it is received and ensure attorneys are aware it has been received
- Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
- Proficient with MS Office products
- Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills
- Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus
$18 - $20 hourly
