What is a Maintenance Mechanic?

Perform machine, equipment, and/or building maintenance activities.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have at least three years experience required with a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts and usage. This is a first shift position with hours Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Modify, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and maintain a wide variety of complicated machinery, equipment and controls.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and written specifications to repair and perform maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
  • Effectively perform material handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, moving and using materials handling equipment when necessary. (such as: lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.)
  • Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary.
  • Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
  • Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
  • Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education
  • Minimum three years experience required.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required,
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts and usage, such as that attainable in specialized high school or college courses.
    • Ability to use a wide variety of power and hand tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
    • Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks.
    • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
Physical and Technical Environment
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee.
    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment.
    • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.
    • Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.
    • Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines.
    • Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis.
    • Separate exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.
