Receptionist / Administration Assistant
At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (GHC), we provide joined‑up mental, physical and learning disability services across Gloucestershire. We run community hospitals and provide care and support in people's own homes and other locations.
This role will join our Reception Team at the Community Stroud Hub (Weavers Croft) and will involve welcoming patients, relatives and visitors, and carrying out a variety of administrative duties.
Key responsibilities- Welcome patients, relatives and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting them with enquiries.
- Deal competently and discreetly with queries face‑to‑face or over the telephone using appropriate protocols.
- Record messages and pass them on to the correct department or person.
- Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.
- Book rooms using the computerized room booking system.
- Use RiO, the patient computer system (full training will be provided).
- Photocopy, maintain supplies of forms and paperwork.
- Update building telephone lists as required.
- Carry out weekly reception tasks to ensure continuous supply of forms for staff, room bookings, message pages and signing‑in pages.
- Keep the reception and waiting areas tidy and notice boards up to date.
- Provide cover for other administrative staff in their absence or as required by the Locality Support Services Manager.
The role is offered on a permanent basis. All new staff join the Trust on a six‑month probationary period. The full‑time hours are 8.30 – 4.30 and 9.00 – 5.00, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications and experienceEssential experience is a background in reception, administration or customer service, and the ability to communicate confidently, calmly and with empathy in a team setting. The successful candidate will have a positive can‑do attitude and a flexible, proactive approach to working in a busy, dynamic environment.
