We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable franchise-approved car dealership in Oxford, for the position of Vehicle Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and experienced motor trade professional to join a busy Service Department. The role involves working alongside a professional workshop team, maintaining high standards of vehicle diagnosis and repair.

Benefits
  • Salary between £30,000 and £36,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Performance-related bonus scheme with on-target earnings around £38,000 to £40,000+ plus overtime at time-and-a-half rate
  • No Saturdays required, working hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:00am to 4:30pm on Friday

Duties of a Vehicle Technician
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards
  • Accurately identify faults and provide detailed reports on vehicle condition, safety, reliability, and performance to the Service Manager
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and work quality procedures
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship within a stringent dealer environment
  • Work efficiently towards team targets
  • An active MOT licence and experience with electric vehicles would be advantageous but are not essential
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician
  • Fully qualified Vehicle Technician with IMI/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Several years' post-qualification technical experience preferredUK driving licence with minimal points
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and excellent team collaboration
  • Ability to produce high-quality work consistently
  • Motivated individual with a professional attitude
  • An MOT licence and experience with electric vehicles are highly desirable but not mandatory
