The role is a teaching assistant in Stonehouse (GL10). The hours are 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and the contract is temporary and full-time.
About the RoleSupport children aged 2‑19 with severe or profound learning difficulties (PMLD) in a specialist institution. Provide day‑to‑day support, creating a nurturing and engaging environment that promotes both educational progress and emotional well‑being.
Responsibilities- Assist pupils with teaching sessions and classroom activities.
- Provide individual and group support tailored to each student’s needs.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Record progress and coordinate with teaching staff.
- Support the use of assistive technology and learning aids.
- Promote positive behaviour and well‑being.
- Prior experience working with children with SEND, especially autism, ADHD, complex needs, and other learning disabilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Flexibility, reliability, resilience, empathy and patience.
- Relevant experience in nurseries, schools, colleges, youth clubs, residential care or other community‑focused settings is an advantage.
- Previous experience supporting a family member with SEND is an asset.
- Suitable DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Competitive pay: £89 per day, paid weekly on Friday.
