Academics is delighted to be recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant for a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Stroud. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEN and contributing to a positive learning environment where every child feels valued.
In this role, you'll work closely with the class teacher to support day-to-day classroom activities, helping pupils remain engaged, confident, and motivated in their learning. A key aspect of the position will involve providing targeted support for children with Special Educational Needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum and reach their potential.
Key Details:
Classroom Assistant role in a mainstream primary school
Stroud location
ASAP start
£90-£105 per day (depending on experience)
Full-time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Long-term temporary position with potential for permanency
Clear DBS required (or willingness to apply)
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons as a Classroom Assistant
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
Work with pupils individually and in small groups to boost confidence and progress
Help create a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Assist with classroom organisation and maintain a safe, well-managed learning space
