Hours: Full Time | Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum
Our client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a fast‑paced and innovative engineering team. This is a hands‑on role focused on the design, development, and testing of electronic systems within a highly technical and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Electronics Engineer:- Design and develop electronic systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Produce PCB designs suitable for manufacture (DFM)
- Carry out debugging, testing, and validation of electronic hardware
- Build and rework prototypes, including soldering and desoldering components
- Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing and CAD tools
- Specify, purchase, and set up lab equipment to support development activities
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HiL) simulations
- Implement structured testing processes to improve reliability and performance
- Work with low‑power RF systems and wireless communication technologies
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams across hardware, software, and physics disciplines
- Support research activities aligned with customer requirements and market needs
- Represent the business at events, exhibitions, and seminars when required
- Experience in electronics design, including schematic and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
- Strong understanding of PCB design for manufacture (DFM)
- Hands‑on experience with soldering and hardware prototyping
- Experience with debugging and testing electronic systems
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as Autodesk Fusion or similar
- Understanding of RF systems and wireless technologies (e.g. LoRa)
- Basic knowledge of embedded software environments (C/C++, Arduino, ESP
32 desirable) - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion
- Confident communicator, able to work across multiple disciplines
