Are you an experienced Planner looking for the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex infrastructure and regulated-sector projects while developing your career within a specialist project controls consultancy? We're working with an established and growing project controls business that is looking to appoint a Consultant Planner to join its integrated project controls team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in project delivery or project controls who wants to take on greater responsibility, broaden their experience and work closely with experienced project controls professionals and senior leadership.
You'll have the opportunity to work across varied client environments, supporting the development and management of integrated project schedules and providing the planning insight that helps project teams make better decisions.
What You'll Be DoingAs a Consultant Planner, you'll support the planning function across live projects, working closely with Project Controls Managers, senior planners and wider project teams.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of integrated master project schedules.
- Assisting with WBS and schedule production throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supporting the integration and assurance of schedules and outputs from other project functions.
- Producing timely and accurate planning outputs for project, business and customer reporting.
- Supporting Earned Value Management (EVM), resource analysis, schedule performance and milestone reporting.
- Working closely with other project controls disciplines to ensure information is properly integrated and aligned.
- Supporting commercial management and change control activities.
- Developing your planning capability through exposure to different projects, clients and working environments.
- Building effective relationships with project stakeholders and contributing positively to the wider project team.
We're interested in hearing from Planners who have:
- 2-3+ years' experience within project delivery or a project controls environment.
- Strong practical experience in project planning.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- An understanding of commercial management and change control.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A structured, analytical and problem-solving approach.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- The flexibility to adapt to different client environments and working cultures.
- An HNC/HND in a relevant discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Experience with in nuclear, defence, rail or wider infrastructure would be particularly valuable, although candidates from other complex project environments will also be considered.
APM qualifications, Primavera P6 Foundation/Practitioner certification, mentoring experience or a military/Armed Forces background would be advantageous.
