About The Role

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play an integral part in the safeguarding of Ecotricity's digital assets, data and IT infrastructure from potential cyber threats. You will be responsible for maintaining & continually improving robust security platforms and controls, whilst ensuring alignment with company policies.

We are looking for someone who is proactive beyond simply configuring security tools and use their experience and initiative to help drive the cyber initiative throughout the business using a range of security tools.

Whilst focusing on incident prevention is key, being prepared for a successful cyber attack is equally vital. Creating incident response playbooks, running tabletop exercises and simulations will be essential to ensure systems can be restored.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer, maintain, and continuously improve SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and security monitoring programmes
  • Develop and tune high-fidelity detections to reduce false positives and improve signal
About You

Sec Ops & Threat Management

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Sec Ops, Security Engineering, or SOC Engineering role
  • Strong hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic)
  • Experience securing & monitoring cloud security operations (Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with endpoint security and detection tooling (e.g. Defender, Crowd Strike)
Solid Understanding Of
  • MITRE ATT&CK
  • Vulnerability management
  • Log sources across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network
  • Scripting or automation experience (Power Shell, Python, KQL, or similar)
  • Incident response lifecycle
Desirable Experience
  • Threat intelligence ingestion and analysis
  • Threat hunting experience
  • Security certifications (e.g. GCED, CISSP, CCSP, OSCP or equivalent experience)
