Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Production
Manufacturing Apprentices play a vital role in the Manufacturing Services Division, contributing to a range of areas such as assembly, machining, and maintenance. Your role will be tailored to your skills and interests, ensuring a hands‑on, practical experience.
The first year will be spent in full‑time training at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), a technical facility based in Gloucester. You will learn the basic practical and theoretical principles of engineering and how to perform engineering operations. 20% of your time will be classroom‑based and 80% is spent in the workshop learning hands‑on skills, using machines, and applying theory.
This year, we are looking to recruit across two different apprenticeship schemes:
- L3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
- L3 Machining Technician
Maintenance Technicians:
This apprenticeship enables apprentices to gain experience in the maintenance and upkeep of equipment across all manufacturing sites. Some of the tasks include locating and rectifying faults on plant and equipment, inspecting and maintaining appropriate plant and equipment to meet operational requirements.
Machining Technicians:
This apprenticeship enables apprentices to gain experience in and support the production of machined parts that feed into our assembly areas and for other customers. Some of the tasks include operating various CNC machinery, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and utilising verniers, micrometres and other measuring equipment.
