We are looking for a seasoned Quality Engineer to lead the development and implementation of our Quality Management System (QMS) for our defense manufacturing operations. In this role you will build core quality processes, create documentation and inspection standards, oversee metrology and calibration, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, MIL‑STDs, and other defense‑industry requirements.
The position requires a hands‑on engineer with deep experience in QMS build‑outs, supplier quality, root‑cause analysis, and high‑tolerance production environments such as electro‑optical or precision assemblies. As production grows, this role will expand, offering a strong opportunity for future leadership within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing
- Hands‑on experience developing or implementing a QMS from the ground up.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, MIL‑STDs, and defense compliance
- Solid foundation in metrology, calibration, SPC, FMEA, and root cause tools
- Experience working with electro‑optical, precision assembly, or similar high tolerance environments.
- Proficiency with common quality and statistical software tools (e.g., Minitab, QMS/ERP systems)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification
- Experience supporting quality systems for DoD programs or scaling defense production environments.
