Overview
Our client, a prominent logistics service provider specializing in cold storage, is currently on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Operations Specialist. With their recent expansion to a state-of-the-art facility in Sturbridge, MA, they are set to create a top-tier third-party logistics operation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the company's growth and operational excellence, reporting directly to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and enhance workplace systems to ensure an efficient, safe, and pleasant working environment.
- Manage company payroll generation and submission with precision.
- Handle the verification and processing of vendor invoices.
- Create and issue timely weekly invoices to customers.
- Coordinate the hiring process from arranging interviews to onboarding, as well as managing terminations.
- Maintain meticulous records of employee training.
- Ensure compliance with Human Resources regulations and manage related procedures.
- Oversee the management of supply inventories to ensure seamless operations.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by senior management.
- Act as a daily point of contact for the operations team, fostering strong professional relationships.
- Provide support and counseling to employees as needed.
- Liaise with external bookkeeping and accounting services.
- Maintain robust relationships with customers and vendors.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar operational role.
- Bookkeeping proficiency, with a preference for experience in Quick Books Online.
- Strong command of MS Office Suite.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for report writing, instructions, and contract handling.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage diverse tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with all staff levels.
- Leadership skills to manage challenges and supervise a team.
- Knowledge of HR management practices and procedures would be beneficial.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure thorough and accurate task completion.
